What to Expect

How to prepare your quilt for longarming

*Backing or batting provided by the client must be 6 inches larger than the quilt top at a minimum*

This is to ensure the quilt can be properly loaded onto the longarm’s frame. 6 inches is an industry-standard for longarm quilting and ensures a quality quilty product. All customers upon ordering acknowledge that any provided backing or batting meets the 6-inch (on all sides) requirement stated above.

Please ensure the quilt top is sufficiently flat and the stitches are secure. As part of my services, all quilts will be lightly steam ironed while on the frame to remove light wrinkles.

High-quality Fil-Tec Glide 40wt thread is used on all quilts. Thread color preference must be specified at time of order. Thread color will be confirmed prior to quilting the top by photo.

Turnaround time

General turn-around time is 1-3 weeks. Upon ordering and providing a quote I will specify if this is expected to be shorter or longer. Expedited quilting is available at a $35 surcharge.

Payment policy

Payment is expected at the time of ordering services. I conduct all payments securely through Paypal. Paypal invoices will come from The Contemporary Quilter, [email protected]
